International Chiropractors Association
The International Chiropractors Association and King Koil sleep Systems Company came together in 1969 to create a sleep system that combined King Koil’s comfort features and specialized designs with ICA’s requirements for clinically sound postural support. The successful and long standing partnership between ICA and King Koil that has grown and developed since that time involves the cooperative design and development of prototypes for sophisticated lines of sleep products, resulting in an ergonomically balanced and chiropractically sound set of sleep systems. A typical mattress undergoes a great deal of wear and tear and needs to be replaced approximately every eight to ten years. As the aging mattress loses its capacity to provide adequate support for the spine, a patient may not only be losing a good night’s sleep, but lose proper spinal support and develop an assortment of postural and structural problems for the spine in the process. The King Koil designs provide a sleeping surface firm enough to maintain a straight line platform for sleeping yet cushioned for a comfortably upholstered sleep surface on the exterior. This construction is further enhanced by posturizing the center third of the mattress to provide optimal firmness and support where most of the body weight is applied.
